# Where the Visit Begins: Jacksonville Zoo’s New VyStar SkyScape Entrance

At [Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens](https://www.jacksonvillezoo.org/), visits now begin beneath the new VyStar SkyScape, the $72 million entrance that opened in March 2026. Here, guests can buy a ticket, grab a coffee, and browse for souvenirs before heading into the Zoo. Each of those first moments is a chance to welcome them and help support the Zoo’s conservation and education mission.

Working alongside the Zoo, architects, and construction teams, SSA Group helped plan how guests would arrive, move through, and enjoy the new space. The project puts SSA’s One Revenue Strategy into practice, designing admissions, culinary, retail, and technology as one connected day rather than a series of separate transactions. That includes everything from a coffee stop near the gate to a faster, wristband-free entry. 

The early signs are encouraging. SSA’s year-over-year review shows retail spending per guest up 65% and food and beverage spending per guest up 11%, along with a marked rise in visitors.
