SSA Group is expanding its commitment to ecosystem conservation as a full member of the Aquarium Conservation Partnership (ACP), becoming the organization’s first corporate member to hold voting rights.

The milestone builds on SSA’s relationship with ACP, which began in 2024 when SSA became the organization’s first corporate member. As a full voting member, SSA will bring an operational perspective to ACP’s work advancing conservation, sustainability, wildlife protection, and the health of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

“We are thrilled to welcome SSA Group as a full member of the Aquarium Conservation Partnership,” said Kim McIntyre, Executive Director of ACP. “SSA Group’s reach across the aquarium and zoo community, combined with its commitment to sustainability and innovation, brings an important operational perspective to our collective work. Their leadership will strengthen our ability to turn shared commitments into meaningful action across our institutions and the communities we serve.”

Through its conservation campaigns and initiatives, ACP helps member organizations turn shared commitments into meaningful action. The Aquarium Conservation Partnership does this by bringing together leading aquariums and organizations across the country to increase their collective conservation impact. Together, they work to address key issues, including:

  • climate change
  • plastic pollution
  • sustainable fisheries and aquaculture
  • environmental justice
  • and ecosystem conservation

“SSA Group is pleased to elevate our commitment to the ACP by bringing our valued and impactful voice to the table,” said Andrew Fischer, Vice President of Restorative Strategies at SSA Group.

Through its work with cultural attractions nationwide, SSA Group advances sustainability across food, retail, sourcing, and waste reduction. Full ACP membership creates new opportunities to share those learnings, collaborate with ACP members, and scale conservation efforts across the industry.
